As part of the recent acquisition of Sandvik business units, NEPEAN obtained a significant conveyor component business in Brasil.
This manufacturing facility has a footprint of 118,000 square metres and is located in Vespasiano, Belo Horizonte, Brasil. “Within this facility NEPEAN can produce in excess of 240,000 rollers and 500 pulleys per year,” says David Reis – General Manager Brasil
The Brasilian business will be known as NEPEAN Conveyors Brazil.
Putting the needs of our customers first is part on NEPEAN’s DNA. With the facility being fully managed locally, NEPEAN continues to drive its focus around exceeding our customers’ expectations when it comes to lead times, on-time delivery and technical support that will all be delivered from the Vespasiano facilities.
“Our aim is to ensure that the Vespasiano facility is a LEAN Centre of Excellence for roller and pulley manufacturing,” says Quintin Roberts – General Manager
“The addition of the advance technologies gained in the acquisition, coupled with the increase in the NEPEAN product offering will complement the already highly successful NEPEAN Brand” says Mr Roberts.
“NEPEAN is already the largest manufacturer of pulleys and idlers in Australia. With the acquisition of Sandvik Conveyor Components, the combined capacity will position NEPEAN as the one of the largest specialists in conveyor components globally; capable of producing thousands of large engineered pulleys and millions of conveyor rollers annually to service customers in 66 countries”.
While the acquisition will open up markets that NEPEAN has not previously had access to, we are 100% focused on ensuring that it is not a distraction from our current loyal customer base throughout Australia. We are also focused on ensuring that our passionate team members are not displaced in the merge. We simply would not have considered this if we didn’t believe that it was to the major benefit of our valued employees and customers.
This investment in Brasil shows NEPEAN’s commitment to the customers and industry in the South American market, and is a major step towards becoming a global leader in innovative conveyor components.
